Cities & Eyes
Typographic
Cities & Eyes is a bound set of typographic pages presenting system, space and sequence. We were given eight texts to work with, dividing the book into three sections of focus. For my main studies I chose to focus on the text “Cities & Eyes” by Italo Calvino because of the strong imagery I felt was insinuated by the text. Light blue, gray and silver metallic papers were chosen to reflect the glass-like city as described in the text. I also used a Japanese hand-sewn binding method to mimic the grid and lines used throughout the piece.
